About this Event

Join us for an autumn afternoon of words, conversation, and community at Lowry’s Lodge Reading Series.

This month’s featured writer is Jim Donnelly, reading from his new collection of short stories, A Workman’s Book of Days. Drawing on a life spent working everywhere from buses and trucks to warehouses and city streets, Donnelly brings the rhythms, characters, humor, and hard edges of working life to the page.

The featured reading will be followed by an Open Poetry Hour. Bring a poem or other short piece to share, or simply come to listen and enjoy an array of voices as colorful and varied as the autumn leaves.

Snacks, chocolates, and beverages will be served. All are welcome.

Featured Writer: Jim Donnelly

Jim Donnelly is a writer and musician. He grew up in the underclass, working at everything from busboy to bus driver, trucker to forklift operator, cabby to clerk. He was a regular contributor to The Aquarian, and his prose, poetry, and essays have appeared in publications in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Largely self-educated, his only formal credential is a GED.
