About this Event
Are you interested in the health of our creeks and steelhead population? Do you want to learn more about watershed health and take action in your local anadromous creek? The Watershed Stewards Program and the The Land Conservancy of SLO County are hosting a restoration event on SLO Creek. This event will take place on Saturday, April 4th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
We will be removing invasive plants such as cape ivy, english ivy, and castor bean along the creek. In addition to this, we will removing trash from in and around the creek to help protect steelhead habitat and help restore the creek.
No experience is needed to particpate! Please bring sturdy closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, long pants, sunscreen, water, a hat, and waders if you have them. We will provide water, snacks, gloves, and some waders! If it rains, the event will be rescheduled. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! Email [email protected].

Meet at the Land Conservancy’s Lower San Luis Obispo Creek Floodplain Preserve. Park in the field directly off of San Luis Bay Drive. From downtown SLO: take Marsh St to US-101 S. Get onto US-101 S and take exit 198, from there turn left onto Ontario road. When you reach San Luis Bay Drive. Turn left and then the field to park will be on the right. WSP signs and staff will be present at the gate to direct cars into the parking area.
