Join the Broward Sheriffβs Office β Cooper City District for a Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) Registration & Community Education Fair designed to help residents better understand LSV regulations, registration requirements, and the key differences between low-speed vehicles and golf carts.π Saturday, January 31, 2026

Residents will have the opportunity to:
β’ Meet Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) staff on-site for guidance, questions, and submission of LSV registration applications
β’ Learn important safety tips and access educational resources
β’ Connect with BSO deputies
π‘ Important Registration Information:
To submit an FLHSMV registration packet, residents MUST bring printed photos of ALL FOUR sides of the vehicle showing required equipment. Golf carts designed to carry more than four passengers must also provide a certified weight slip.
A $40 application fee applies and must be paid by cash, check, or money order only. All fees are set and collected by FLHSMV.
What is an LSV?
An LSV is a golf cart that has been modified and equipped to meet Florida roadway requirements, allowing it to be legally registered and operated on designated public roads.
To qualify as an LSV, a golf cart must be properly outfitted with required safety equipment, registered through the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), and display a valid license plate.
