Annual reunion of descendants of the pioneer Lovingood family of Hanging Dog. Details TBA
For first timers, plan extra time to visit the museum in Murphy, and explore the roads in and around Hanging Dog, and Western North Carolina. This area was completely unaffected by the floods. Those areas are 2 hours to the east. Driving from Atlanta can be breathtaking, stay off the highways and go straight north.
Tip; If you don’t like curvy roads, don’t eat before driving in and no snacks for the kids or pets lol. This holds true between anywhere and Hanging Dog, let alone Murphy. There are probably 100 curves between Murphy and the church!
