Join us for the Saskatchewan premiere of The Golden Village (2026) by Karen Cho, opening with Chairs for Lovers (1974). Following the screening, stay for a conversation with filmmaker Karen Cho and other panelists on third spaces, placemaking, and where community-building and culture intersect.Riversdale Chinatown Project aims to shed light on Saskatoon’s historic Chinatown, while creating third spaces such as mahjong game nights, Mid Autumn festival, and beyond. Homegrown brings filmmakers and film-lovers together to celebrate local cinema on Treaty 6. They hope the evening can inspire new ways of thinking about public space, and what gathering can look like in Saskatoon.
