Love Thy Neighbor is designed to create a welcoming, LGBTQIA+ affirming space for dialogue,learning, and connection. The event will feature a panel discussion exploring the complex history
between LGBTQIA+ communities and religious traditions, as well as highlighting the ways
many faith communities are now actively working toward full affirmation and inclusion.
Panelists will represent Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Jewish, and Unitarians, offering perspectives on how their faith communities have evolved and how
they are engaging in justice-centered, affirming practices today.
In addition to the panel discussion, local LGBTQIA+ affirming churches will be present to
meet attendees who may be seeking a faith community that fully welcomes and celebrates
LGBTQIA+ identities. This portion of the event is intentionally relational and low-pressure,
allowing individuals and families to make connections and ask questions in a safe, supportive
environment—helping reduce barriers for those who may choose to visit an affirming
congregation in the future.
