We want to share our love of the outdoors with you! On Saturday, February 15th, we’re hosting an open house style event in which we’ll offer abbreviated versions of several of our most popular programs, no reservations required!
9 – 10 am: Beginning Birding at the center (how to use binoculars, basic bird ID, how to use e-Bird to track your sightings, and spend time identifying birds at our feeders)
10 - 10:45 am: Guided Hike to our outdoor classroom and scenic overlook at May’s Prairie (starts at the center).
10 am – 1 pm: Wildlife Signs activities ongoing inside the center (touch real animal pelts and identify animal skulls, animal track matching game, make your own animal tracks impressions in kinetic sand, etc.).
12 – 1 pm: Nature Journaling under the pole barn by the center.
Feel free to participate in as many or as few activities as you'd like! We have picnic tables around the center if you'd like to enjoy a homemade packed lunch or snacks while you're here. If you have questions and want to learn more, contact the center at 352-754-6722 or [email protected].
