You're invited to an evening of literacy & culture featuring Dr. David Yetman and his acclaimed book, The Saguaro Cactus: A Natural History.About this Event
Join Pima County Supervisor Andrés Cano for the next Love of Lectura gathering featuring Dr. David Yetman and his book, The Saguaro Cactus: A Natural History. This free community event will include light refreshments and an evening of reading, conversation, and reflection rooted in the Sonoran Desert we share.
The saguaro is more than an icon on the horizon—it is a living archive of drought, heat, time, and adaptation. In The Saguaro Cactus, Dr. Yetman and his co-authors explore the saguaro’s role in Sonoran Desert ecology, its strategies for surviving an unforgiving climate, and its enduring significance in Indigenous culture and knowledge.
This gathering is also offered as Pima County commmemorates the 25th Anniversary of the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan, balancing protection of our cultural and natural resource heritage with the long-term health and vitality of our community.
This event is free and open to the public; registration is required.
Every guest will receive a FREE copy of The Saguaro Cactus: A Natural History thanks to the generous support of our community partners.
LOVE OF LECTURA is possible with the generous support of:
