The drag show LOVE IS LOVE is making a grand comeback!

Mothball-scented old men from a certain country keep insisting that queerness is just “Western propaganda.” But let’s be honest—pretty much everything that shaped us was queer!

Soviet pop culture had it all: The Wolf and the Hare from Nu, Pogodi!—a classic gay dynamic of a masculine top and a femme icon. Cheburashka— a gender-defying creature effortlessly breaking the binary. Baba Yaga—a drag diva who, long before RuPaul, showed that being a witch means being a star. Faina Ranevskaya turned every phrase into a lesbian manifesto, while Tchaikovsky composed symphonies of pure queer passion and repressed desire. And these are just Russian-speaking examples—imagine how much queerness thrived across all cultures of the former Soviet Union!

Queer people have always existed and always will! We’re reclaiming our past and making visible what some desperately try to erase.

And, of course, a drag show is the best way to celebrate queer history! That’s exactly what we’re here to do—with you! 💃

Драг-шоу LOVE IS LOVE делает кульбит!

Нафталиновые деды кое-какой страны твердят, что квир — это "западная пропаганда", но давайте взглянем правде в глаза: примерно всё, что нас сформировало, было квирным! 

В советской попкультуре было всё: Волк и Заяц из «Ну, погоди!» — классическая гей-динамика маскулинного топа и феминной иконы. Чебурашка — существо вне гендерных рамок, с лёгкостью разрушившее бинарность. Баба-Яга — дрэг-дива, которая задолго до RuPaul показывала, что быть ведьмой — значит быть звездой. Фаина Раневская сделала каждую свою фразу лесбо-манифестом, а Чайковский писал симфонии чистой квир-страсти и подавленного желания. И это только русскоязычные примеры, а сколько квирного ещё во всех культурах бывшего советского союза!

Ребята, квир был, есть и будет! Всегда и везде! Мы обращаемся к своему прошлому и делаем видимым то, что некоторые так хотят спрятать. 

И, конечно, Drag-Show - это лучший способ отпраздновать квир-историю! Чем мы и займёмся💃 вместе с вами!
