Love at First Sip: A Tea Cocktail Social & Mixer
Sip, vibe, and connect. For Singles, Friends & Good Vibes ✨🍹
Tea cocktails. Playful games. Live Music. Unexpected connections.
Love at First Sip is not your average mixer — it’s a flirty, feel-good tea social where every guest gets assigned a custom tea flavor personality upon arrival. Then the fun begins...
Mingle your way through a lighthearted bingo-style challenge designed to spark laughter, conversation, and maybe even a tea-mate match. Whether you're showing up solo, with friends, or just curious to sip, eat and socialize — this vibe is all about good energy and great company.
No pressure. Just a good time.
Come for brunch or stay for tea cocktails — and connections. Because sometimes, love (or your next favorite person) starts with a single sip.

About the Hosts:
Kissa Starr:
Kissa Starr is an author, wellness enthusiast, creative entrepreneur, and the founder of Buttafly Unlimited and Plants and Teas—two brands rooted in holistic living, self-expression, and the healing power of herbs. Originally from New York, Kissa spent over a decade in Los Angeles and now calls Houston, Texas home.
She launched Buttafly Unlimited in 2000 as a movement in self-love and transformation. The name speaks to the metamorphosis of the individual (Buttafly) and the infinite possibilities of life (Unlimited). Its affirmation-driven tees—especially the iconic “I Love My Hair” and “I Love My Beard”—inspire confidence, authenticity, and a celebration of self. At the heart of the brand is the acronym B.U. — a reminder to celebrate individuality and boldly “Be You.”
Her second brand, Plants and Teas, blossomed from her passion for wellness, herbal teas, and a deep reverence for nature. Through simple rituals and intentional blends, she encourages others to root themselves in daily practices that support both inner balance and outer glow.
With a background spanning fitness coaching, wellness leadership, fashion, comedy, and creative entrepreneurship, Kissa’s work bridges beauty, humor, and healing. Whether she’s tending to her plant collection, sipping tea, or connecting through community, her mission remains the same: to guide others in celebrating their uniqueness and embracing rituals that nourish body, mind, and spirit.
Chef Toya Terry:
It's safe to say that food was not her first passion—choosing first, the narrative set forth by so many parents’, to college and an eventual career as a cardiovascular researcher. Afterward, transitioning and centering on yet another family narrative—her grandmother owned a beloved southern food restaurant for 30+ years—which led her to culinary school. This focused her towards a newfound profession, which she continues to hone. From working in many fine dining kitchens in Houston such as Holley's under esteemed Chef Mark Holley, to spreading her wings under Peruvian chef and culinary legend Gastón Acurio (Astríd y Gastón, Lima), one theme has rung true…her roots. Her roots have branched even further and pushed her to the private side of culinary arts, where she has remained for 8+ years crafting nutritional programs for elite NFL/NBA athletes (Trent Williams, Chris Paul, James Harden). At the same time, she has also been a staunch wellness advocate touting the numerous potential health benefits of tea. Having worked as a tea sommelier for Teavana for 8 years, she recognized the cardiovascular and cognitive benefits that tea offered the greater good. She wakes everyday grateful to craft, create and educate others.
