Constance Wu is Rachel Chu, an American-born Chinese professor coming up on her first anniversary with her boyfriend Nick Young (Henry Golding). To celebrate, Nick asks her to attend his best friend Colin (Chris Pang)'s wedding in Singapore with him and meet his family. It's a big, exciting step forward for the two.
