GROW THE FUTUREYou are invited to a Lotería Fundraiser with All Saints Literacy Center. This event will take place at El Kiosko Banquet Hall in southwest Detroit. There will be an open bar, dinner, music, an immersive learning experience, Lotería games, and the premiere of “A Place for Everyone” mini-documentary about All Saints Literacy Center. In addition, one of our very own learners and a published author, Jesus Ibarra, will present his testimonial and poetry.
Now in our 10th year, we have so much to celebrate, including:
* Doubling our learner-tutor pairs in the 2024-2025 academic year
* Hiring our first Michigan certified English instructor, and who is fluent in English, Spanish, and German
* Hiring our first staff member fluent in English, Spanish, Kaqchikel, and Italian
* Offering group classes for the first time teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and Digital Literacy
* Partnering with our community to host events such as poetry, writing, and mental health workshops; Trunk-or-Treat; and a National Adult Education Honor Society Induction Ceremony
* Growing our standardized testing scores (CASAS)
* Having multiple ESL learners write and publish books and poetry in English
* And so much more!
Perhaps most important, over the last academic year, our learners surpassed their goals in areas of English language learning, digital literacy, and gaining the confidence to advocate for themselves and their families.
This year, adult education funding is threatened at both the state and federal levels. Your support can ensure that our doors stay open to the more than 100 learners who engage in our services annually.
