When the nights turn colder and the moon climbs high, old stories begin to stir, including tales of creatures caught between human and beast. This spooky-season program sinks its teeth into the dark origins of werewolf lore, tracing how shapeshifting terror has haunted cultures for centuries. Then the shadows creep closer to home....From the Patapsco Howler, rumored to stalk the ravines and twisted trails near Ellicott City, to the savage Dwayyo, a wolf-like monster said to prowl the woods of western Maryland, this spine-tingling talk unravels the beasts that lurk in our own backyard.
Blending anthropology, legend, and local history, Rissa Miller's Lore of the Werewolf explores why these creatures linger at the edges of our fears and why we've been looking for them for thousands of years.
