Auditions for William Golding's LORD OF THE FLIES, directed by Sara James and B.J. Underwood. We will have you read sides from the show. Please be prepared to stay for the duration to read with other actors. As this is an ensemble piece, it is crucial to see you all together. ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE. All casting will be gender blind, with the exception of Piggy, who will be fem presenting. All roles will be performed with a British accent, with the exception of Maurice, who is French.
Ralph: The athletic and charismatic protagonist who becomes the elected leader of the surviving boys.
Jack Merridew: The strong-willed antagonist who was the leader of the choir at his school.
Piggy: Ralph's intellectual and talkative friend who helps Ralph to become leader.
Simon: An innately spiritual boy who is often the voice of reason in the midst of the rivalry between Ralph and Jack
Roger: An initially quiet boy who eventually shows his love for violence when Jack rises to power
Sam and Eric: Twins, who are among Ralph's supporters
Henry: The biggest of the Littl'uns
Maurice: One of Jack's key supporters, he is French
Bill: One of Jack's key supporters
Perceval: A slightly younger Littl'un who is the first to "see" the beast
The Officer/Parachutist: An unnamed British naval officer who commands a landing party arriving on the island at the end of the novel.
