Lord Blunkett Lecture
About this Event
Lord Blunkett Lecture
Tuesday 3 November 2026
The Great Room, RSA House
Join us for the inaugural Lord David Blunkett Lecture, hosted by the Royal Society of Arts at RSA House, London.
At a moment of extraordinary change, the question of how – and why – we must continue to learn has rarely felt more important.
Artificial intelligence is already beginning to transform education, but its implications reach far beyond the classroom: reshaping how we work, create, make decisions and navigate our lives. The coming years will challenge many of our assumptions about knowledge, skills, opportunity and what it means to fulfil our human potential.
One of Britain’s most influential public figures, Lord David Blunkett has spent a lifetime thinking about these questions through the lens of education, opportunity and public life. For his inaugural Royal Society of Arts lecture, he will look ahead: exploring what learning might mean in 2026 and beyond, and how we equip people not simply to adapt to change, but to shape it.
Through a lively and wide-ranging conversation with a special guest host, the evening will bring together personal experience, big ideas and unexpected perspectives on education, creativity, technology and the future of society.
