Based on an 1890's story by Oscar Wilde about Lord Arthur Savile who is engaged to lovely Sybil Merton. Lord Arthur desires a blissful married life and everything looks set until Sybil's mother invites her pet cheiromantist Mr Podgers to read Lord Arthur's palm. He foretells that Lord Arthur will commit a murder and therefore Arthur feels duty bound to get the murder over with first before the marriage can proceed. Despite help from his faithful and stalwart butler, Baines and the cheerful yet unpredictable anarchist, Winkelkopf, chaos and laughter ensue as they try to ensure a secure and blissful future for Arthur and Sybil.
