Paul Fitzgerald (aka 'Polyp') makes a very welcome return to Sheffield Humanists with this not-to-be-missed illustrated talk about some of history's most dramatic, challenging, and determined freethinking humanists.
LOOSE CANNONS is based on Polyp's forthcoming new book, written in collaboration with researcher Madeleine Goodall. It will be a cheeky, riveting, warts and all collection of short, lively biographies of world shaking humanists, some of whom are household names, and some who are deserving to be rediscovered.
Our speaker:
Polyp is a professional cartoonist, graphic novelist and science educator. His recent works include PAINE, PETERLOO (about the infamous Manchester massacre of 1819) and thINK, a collection of his skepticism cartoons.

Event programme:
19:30 Introduction
19:40 Presentation
20:30 Break
20:40 Q&A
The venue has free parking, but you must enter your vehicle's registration number on the tablet at the entrance or at the bar.
The bar is usually only run by one person so please come early to get a drink.
This event is free, but we welcome any donations, which help with the running of our group.
Note that this event is one week later than our usual '3rd Monday of the month' to avoid conflicting with the Festival of Humanism in Bournemouth.
