This two-day course is designed for paddlers who are comfortable on the Loop and ready to take the next step towards the Upper.📅 Day One – Coaching on the Loop
We’ll spend the first day on the familiar class 3 rapids of the Loop, using them as a training ground to push skills further without the added pressure of new terrain. The focus will be on making class 4 style moves in class 3 water — precise line choice, controlled edge use, and committing break-ins and outs. Alongside the technical coaching, we’ll work on confidence building, breaking moves down into achievable steps and giving you time to practise until they feel comfortable. The day is about building trust in your skills, boosting decision-making under pressure, and developing the composure you’ll need for the Upper.
🚀 Day Two – Stepping Up to the Upper
With new skills and confidence in place, we’ll head onto the Upper. The day will be about taking our time, learning the lines, breaking the river down into sections, and working as a team to make it down safely and with control. The pace will be steady, with plenty of coaching, scouting, and support as you experience this classic stretch of whitewater.
✅ By the end of the course, you’ll have completed your first lap of the Upper Dart — building experience in a supportive environment and taking away skills to use on future runs.
ℹ️ This course is deliberately run on weekdays to avoid the crowds and give you more space on the river. If weekends work better for you, get in touch — I can schedule and advertise weekend dates too.
This course is priced at ÂŁ170 per person for the two days.
