A concert of choral music from several genres including folk, popular and music theatre. All will be performed by Cavehill Community Choir, mostly in their own arrangements, and conducted from the keyboard by their musical director Donal McCrisken. They will be joined by Darragh Morgan, a violinist of international repute who was born, reared and educated in North Belfast. Darragh will play pieces on his own as well as joining the choir in several unique arrangements.
Cavehill Community Choir was formed in 2013 and attracts singers from all over the city and beyond. Currently numbering 130 members, it is a non-audition, sing for pleasure choir which performs in a variety of venues throughout the city but particularly in North Belfast.
Dr Darragh Morgan is one of Ireland's leading instrumentalists with a particular commitment to performing the music of living composers. He has played throughout the world including at festivals in Warsaw, Brussels, London, Switzerland and South Africa. He has led various musical ensembles and currently is leader of English Touring Opera. Darragh has performed with Travis, Paul McCartney, Divine Comedy, David Bowie and countless other artists.
