Join us at the Robert Russa Moton Museum as we welcome Torli Bush for an evening of poetry and conversation on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 7 PM."What a joy to discover a young genius blooming in our hills here in West Virginia, celebrating who he is and where he comes from. Read this. It will make you proud." – Nikki Giovanni
Torli Bush, a native of Webster Springs, West Virginia, is a poetry editor for Heartwood Literary Magazine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University and an MFA in Creative Writing from West Virginia Wesleyan College. His newest book, Requiem for a Redbird, is a powerful collection that weaves together loss, intimacy, faith, race, politics, and Appalachia. Both a love letter to West Virginia and a call for a better world, his work offers a deeply moving and complex portrait of life in the mountains.
A reception and book signing will follow the reading.
This event is free and open to the public. Persons with disabilities who wish to arrange accommodations or material in an alternative format may call 434.395.2391 (Voice) or 711 (TT).
