Longleaf Pine Preserve Eco-buggy Tour: Afternoon

Join environmental specialist, Tommy Nordmann, on the Explore Volusia eco-buggy for a tour of Longleaf Pine Preserve, West. Participants will pass through a variety of native habitats including pine flatwoods and wetland areas. We’ll identify the plants and animals we see along the way, and we’ll discuss land management practices and recreation opportunities.

** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. Visit Explore Volusia to download and complete the waiver ahead of time.

ACTIVITY: The tour will take place on a hay-ride style, covered trailer with benches. There will be some easy, short walks as well.

** We will meet in the parking lot of Longleaf Pine Preserve, west, and then we will take a 0.5-mile walk together to the eco-buggy for the tour.

RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.

TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.

AGES: All ages are welcome.

ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing for the outdoors

** Some of our trails have mud and/or standing water because they are located in wetland ecosystems and because of seasonal rains and high tides. We recommend you bring a pair of waterproof boots in addition to your regular hiking shoes if you don't want your shoes to get wet. Our leader will let you know the condition of the trails prior to the start of the tour.

WHAT TO BRING: water, sunscreen, and bug spray

FACILITIES: There is a port-a-let but no running water on site.
