Dear friends and dancing colleagues from Romania and other countries, we invite you to join us for a three days JAM for new year’s eve, in Bucharest!
We are usually meeting for CI classes and jams weekly in Bucharest in a lovely round studio with many windows, and we thought it would be a good idea to open the space for a small dance gathering as a way to celebrate the end and the beginning of the year.
The main host of the JAM will be Virginia Negru, but also we know that some local dancers will be present ++ PLUS our dear neighbours Sergey Golovnea, Olga Braga (+kids) and (possibly/partially) Alexandra Soshnicova from R. Moldova have also confirmed their presence. We’ll keep adding names of other guest (teachers) that will join our LONG JAM.

29, 30, 31 December
// Structure/theme/spirit:
- For 29 & 30 we propose an open structure of jamming between 11:00 to 17:00 but also depending on who is joining and their desires we can organise a schedule on the spot with some proposals of laboratory, warming up together, dancing dates, scores, performance.
- In the open time in the evening, if we feel like it, we can also meet in the city, go for movies, and or just socialise or play board games if someone local wants to host.
- And for 31 we propose open time in the first part of the day (for relaxing and cooking :D) and then having a potluck where everyone can share meals at the dancing space from (approx) 17:00 and then go into dancing again (open jam structure), watching others dance and enjoying a relaxing, calm, meditative time together.
- Our proposed theme or desire would be that we meet for the joy of being together and dancing. It’s not a party-spirit event, no loud music, and no alcohol while dancing with someone (for no other reason than safety). It’s also not a too precious space, in the sense of not special rituals of any kind, simply people that enjoy dancing, floor work/rest, quiet time & nice company of others, maybe contemplative atmosphere, or meditation on the side, but nothing specially organised just what spontaneously makes sense without too much fuss.

Children are welcome, since it’s a jam and not a workshop, it’s easy to include children in our dance <3
// Fee
Sliding scale, according to your budget:
- Full participation - 300 ron/60 euros - 500 ron/100 euros
- Per day - 150 ron/30 euros - 250 ron/50 euros
Depending on the amount of participants this contribution will help us cover the studio rent, organisation, and small travel compensation for guests teachers from other countries.
// Accommodation
We don’t cover the accommodation, but we can ask local dancers if there is somebody that can host. Also airbnb and couchsurfing is quite accessible and working in Bucharest.
