Loneliness: June Book Club Meeting Announcement

Dear fellow book aficionados,
It has been a long journey, but our Around the World cycle finally came to an end last month, and now it’s time for a change of course.
One of the suggestions from one of our members that I really liked was “loneliness”.
It’s a difficult concept for me to define, though, as it can be both very concrete and very abstract. Some people are alone even when surrounded by others; some despair without human contact. Frodo felt alone, an outsider even while surrounded by the Fellowship of the Ring. The main character of The Road, by Cormac McCarthy, desperately seeks physical isolation for himself and his child as a means of survival.
If it’s your first time, and the theme seems too cumbersome, remember that you are welcome to show up, join the discussion, and drink a glass of wine. Always keep that in mind.
For those who do have something connected to the theme, though, I’m curious to see what you will bring.
As always, join us for a nice afternoon - with a book or without. You’re welcome to come just for the discussion, especially if it’s your first time. And for those in the mood, we can grab a drink afterwards.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Bruno & Ron
