IHSA's London Labour Management Committee, London & District Construction Association & 3M presents Bridging the Gap: A Safety Symposium an exciting event aimed at fostering collaboration and improving workplace safety practices. Join us on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 at the London & District Construction Association for a day filled with insightful discussions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities.
Six engaging 45-minute sessions covering a wide range of topics, including:
Session A: Fall Protection on Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) & Safe and Secure at Heights
Hazards during entry, exit, maneuvering, loading, unloading, and work at height, plus fall prevention versus fall arrest and the ABCs of personal fall protection.
Session B: Leading Edge & Fall Clearance (SRL)
Leading and sharp edge hazards, applicable standards, and how fall clearance affects worker protection at height.
Session C: Respiratory and Hearing Protection
Respiratory hazards, respirator selection, CSA and NIOSH considerations, and practical steps to help prevent noise-induced hearing loss.
Session D: Rescue from Heights
Why site-specific rescue planning matters, plus practical guidance on preparation, practice, and suggested PPE.
Session E: Dropped Object Protection
Concepts, principles, and equipment to help stop tools and other objects from falling when work is performed near an edge.
Session F: Guide to Abrasive Safety & Process Improvements
Hand-arm vibration, airborne particles, noise, injury prevention, and reducing costs within primary abrasive operations
