This year's Area Qualifying Contest for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in the London & Southern Counties Area takes place over the weekend of the 15th and 16th March 2025.There have been 78 bands enter in this year’s contest, see below information about the weekend schedule.
The 2025 contest takes place on 15th & 16th March 2025 at the Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre, running under the new 2025 rules.
Here’s the full schedule:
Saturday 15th March
Section 4 – Gordon Craig Theatre
👨⚖️ Adjudicators: Paul Norley & Steve Sykes
🎟 Split Draw: 8:45 am & 11 am | Contest starts at 10 am
🎶 17 bands competing!
Section 1 – Gordon Craig Theatre
📢 Adjudicators: Anne Crookston & Christopher Bond
🎟 Split Draw: 1:30 pm & 4 pm (after Section 4, but not before 3 pm)
🎶 14 bands competing!
Sunday 16th March
Section 3 – Gordon Craig Theatre
🎺 Adjudicators: Stephanie Binns & Jack Capstaff
🎟 Split Draw: 8 am & 10:45 am | Contest starts at 9:30 am
🎶 17 bands competing!
Section 2 – Main Concert Hall
📝 Adjudicators: Christopher Bond & Steve Sykes
🎟 Split Draw: 9:15 am & 11:45 am | Contest starts at 11 am
🎶 18 bands competing!
Championship Section – Gordon Craig Theatre
🎼 Adjudicators: Anne Crookston & Paul Norley
🎟 Draw: 1:15 pm (after Section 3, but not before 3 pm)
