Locked In: Care-fully Breaking Free

is a collaboration and performance piece about systemic bias in healthcare against people who are unhoused. It was co-created by zAmya Theater Project, whose mission is to inspire action for housing justice, and the Twin Cities chapter of the global Campaign Against Racism (CAR), a global movement of health workers organizing to dismantle structural racism in healthcare.

Locked In: Care-fully Breaking Free will be created using content generated in a three day training in early May between Adrian Jackson, Founder of Cardboard Citizens U.K., and community members including those who have experienced homelessness, activists, harm reduction advocates and care providers. This new Forum Theater play will investigate systems of care both inside and outside the systems of public health and housing. This event is designed to offer an interactive and healing space for community members and policy makers to work across ideological divides and engage in transformative change through generating solutions.
