To celebrate the Local Spins website's 12th anniversary and kick off the summer festival season, soulful rock band Nathan Walton & The Remedy, multi-genre ensemble Elijah Russ Collective and emerging funk-rock phenoms Short Panic will take center stage at Local Spins Fest 2024. In addition, in keeping with "The Future of Michigan Music" theme, two teen bands -- Ocean Boosamra & The Hand Me Downs and Hangman -- will get the festival started, giving a big-stage platform to passionate young musicians with dreams of music as a career and allowing them to 'rub elbows' with professional bands. In addition, performance videos of several other bands from area music academies and schools of rock will be shown on the big screen at the Studio Park piazza in between sets.Representatives for area music academies will also be on hand to inform attendees about their programs, along with the Michigan Music Alliance which strives to educate the state's musicians in building their careers. To toast Local Spins' anniversary, Rockford Brewing will once again brew Local Spinsation Ale, which will be on tap at the event.
In keeping with Local Spins’ mission to make live music as accessible as possible to families, general admission tickets are just $10, with VIP seating available for $25 (with those tickets including premier seating, a frameable festival poster and Local Spins sunglasses).
