Local Mountain Med - "Trailside Response Training"
Join us for a hands-on Trailside Response Training (TRT) class designed to help you confidently respond to medical emergencies in outdoor environments. Whether you're a hiker, camper, mountain biker, climber, trail runner, overlander, or simply enjoy spending time outside, you'll gain practical skills to recognize, assess, and manage common wilderness emergencies until help arrives.
Through realistic scenarios and hands-on practice, you'll learn techniques that can make a difference when you're far from immediate medical care.
What you'll learn:
- How to recognize and respond to common trailside and wilderness medical emergencies
- How to perform a systematic patient assessment in remote environments
- Bleeding control and wound management
- Care for fractures, sprains, dislocations, and splinting techniques
- Recognition and treatment of heat illness, hypothermia, dehydration, and environmental emergencies
- How to manage common outdoor injuries including bites, stings, and allergic reactions
- Decision-making, evacuation considerations, and when to call for help
- Realistic, hands-on scenarios that build confidence and practical problem-solving skills
