Please join us at GTLUG's monthly meeting--second Monday of the month. As a reminder, we are now meeting at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC), in the lower level of the Timothy J. Nelson Innovation Center (TJNIC) building, Room #15.
Are you interested in using Large Language Models (LLMs), similar to ChatGPT, Claude, etc., privately and locally, without a dependence on data centers? Great news! There's plenty of freely available open source models that you can download right now. This month, we will have a number of members who can share their experiences running local LLMs for productive tasks, beyond just chat.
We'll talk about tools and the various software stack considerations. We'll cover the basics so that you can be chatting with a model right away. We'll also talk about having models doing actual work, as well as security considerations that come with it.
