About this Event
Beatrice Clugston founded Broomhill Hospital, Lenzie Hospital, the Dorcas Society and the Association for the Relief of the Infirm. In 1876 she moved from Glasgow to Moncrieff Avenue in Lenzie and is buried in the Auld Aisle Cemetery, Kirkintilloch.
This guided walk is 8km (5 miles) long with an elevation gain of 178 m. The walk will take around 2.5 hours to complete, including stops at points of interest associated with Beatrice Clugston. Please dress appropriately for an outdoor walk and the weather.
Meeting point: Kirkintilloch Town Hall
Details of the route: From the Town Hall to St David's Church, then to the Auld Aisle Cemetery, through the Luggie Water Park to Kilsyth Road, through Beatrice Meadows, then return to the Town Hall.
