A properly designed, maintained, and operated local exhaust ventilation (LEV) system can remove airborne contaminants before people breathe them in and will protect workers’ health.
Course Learning Outcome
- To review the designs of the local exhaust ventilation systems to determine if they are able to remove airborne contaminants without harming the environment
- To assess the local exhaust ventilation system designs and ensure that they follow the procedures for system design
- To assess the local exhaust ventilation system designs and/or models and ensure that they comply with system standards and legal requirements
Learning Units
- Principles of ventilation
- Principles of local exhaust ventilation system designs and fabrication
- Engineering calculations
