Local Exhaust Ventilation System Management
About this Event
Course Overview
Local exhaust ventilation (LEV) is the system to reduce employee exposure to airborne contaminants such as dust, mist, fume, vapour, and gas in the workplace. A properly designed, maintained, and operated local exhaust ventilation (LEV) system can remove airborne contaminants before people breathe them in and will protect workers’ health.
Course Learning Outcome
- To review the designs of the local exhaust ventilation systems to determine if they are able to remove airborne contaminants without harming the environment
- To assess the local exhaust ventilation system designs and ensure that they follow the procedures for system design
- To assess the local exhaust ventilation system designs and/or models and ensure that they comply with system standards and legal requirements
Learning Units
- Principles of ventilation
- Principles of local exhaust ventilation system designs and fabrication
- Engineering calculations
