Blotch in the Mirror: Perry is home schooled until he is ready for ninth grade and tells his parents he wants more person to person interaction, but he has no experience making friends. The thing he has the hardest time telling us about is the giant blotch of a birthmark on his left cheek. When he first meets you he turns his face slightly to the left so you don’t see Blotch. In the first three weeks of school almost no one speaks to him. On stressful days he encounters his negative self in the mirror. This negative self tells him he's damaged goods.
