About this Event
We have very limited spots for this unique event, PLEASE only register if you can commit to attending, we'd greatly appreciate it, THANK YOU!
Join us and the Land Trust of Santa Clara County for a hike at Tulare Hill Ecological Preserve.
The Tulare Hill Ecological Preserve includes 116 acres dedicated to the protection of the Bay checkerspot butterfly, the California red-legged frog, and other threatened and endangered species. This site is located in south San Jose between Monterey Road and Santa Teresa Boulevard. This site is normally closed to the public but we will be guided by Land Trust staff. This time of year, we can expect to see lots of blooming flowers! So it truly is a unique experience.
Hike will be 2 miles long with 300ft in elevation gain. We'll be walking along a pretty rocky ranch road so solid footwear and/or hiking poles are recommended.
Feel free to bring cameras, hats and sun protection, and binoculars if possible, the birding can be pretty great. NO PETS. We will have snacks to share. If you prefer your own snacks/lunch, please be sure to pack those with you.
We will follow up with an exact meeting location, more details, and our Latino Outdoors waiver. We will NOT meet at Tulare Hill since there is very limted parking, instead we will meet up at a coffee shop nearby and caravan/carpool and drive together.
