LO SF Bay Area | Semillitas Outdoors: Pilarcitos Lake Overlook Hiike

Join us for a hike on Cahill Ridge! Starting at Cemetery gate, the hike begins on the ridge top in a mixed hardwood forest. In awe-inspiring majesty, Douglas firs tower over the trail. Let your mind wander as we stroll out to Pilarcitos Overlook for a special peek at the oldest reservoir in the system. This is a 6-mile hike from Cemetery Gate Trailhead (Cemetery Gate is at Mile Marker 1.5). The trail is on a mostly flat road. It is family friendly for 10 years and older, due to the length of the hike. We'll plan on providing snacks and water at the beginning of the hike. There are various picnic tables throughout the hike and at the overlook.

Meet at the turnout on the north side of the intersection of CA Highway 92 and CA Highway 35 just before the entrance to Skylawn Cemetery. The turnout is on the right side of westbound CA Highway 92 approximately 1.7 miles after you have passed over Crystal Springs Reservoir. Once the group has arrived, we will caravan north through the Cemetery approximately 2 miles to the Cemetery Gate Trail head and park inside the gate. We will hike out to Pilarcitos Overlook at Mile Marker 4.5 and back.
