Amor y Migración: Newt Exploration

Date & Time: Sunday, February 15th, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Description: Join us for a 2-mile hike as we experience the Great Newt Migration, exploring their amazing adaptations, and amorous aventuras en la naturaleza.

Meeting Location: You will drive all the way to the end of Bollinger Canyon Rd and we will meet in front of the restroom in the staging (parking lot) area. https://maps.app.goo.gl/VVkugHhjWLSmBS3t6

Hike: 2 miles, 300 ft. elevation gain, uneven, muddy terrain.

Please note that the length of the program and hike may change depending on the weather and trail conditions.

Weather: Be prepared for wet weather and muddy trail. Please wear close-toed shoes. Rainboot highly recommended.

Important Notes:

• Please be prepared for wilderness conditions, as there will be no cell service at the park.
• The trail may be muddy and wet, so I recommend wearing tall rain boots or an old pair of sneakers that you don’t mind getting muddy.
• Due to uneven terrain and mud, hiking poles are highly recommended.
• Be sure to bring your own water, as the park's water supply is inconsistent.
• While we can’t guarantee newt sightings but we’ll be learning about these nifty newts!
