Petroglyph hike at Piedras Marcadas Mesa

Come join us for an exciting adventure exploring the ancient petroglyphs at Piedras Marcadas Mesa! This in-person event will take you on a journey through history as you discover the fascinating rock carvings left behind by the Native Americans. Get ready to hike through the beautiful landscape and witness these incredible artifacts up close. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with the past and enjoy the great outdoors!

No dogs allowed. Please leave your pets at home for this hike.

Time: 9:00 meet in the parking lot to go over safety information and sign waivers. We will start our hike at 9:15am.

Distance: 2.6-mile loop trail near Albuquerque, New Mexico. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 56 min to complete.

Degree of difficulty: Easy to moderate

This route follows the North Rim Trail up and across the mesa with excellent views of the park's landscape, Albuquerque, and the Sandia Mountains in the distance. Then descend the mesa and weave through sandy trails adorned with lava rocks and petroglyphs.
