As a young woman is about to launch her career-changing novel, her mother spirals when she accidentally discovers that her daughter only credits her grandmother for inspiring her unapologetic and daring path. Will tensions within her family derail her plans for a joyful book launch party?

Developed as part of Charter Oak's Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz Justice Institute, Lo Cotidiano is based on extensive interviews with Latinx women that took place in 2023/2024. Connecticut playwright Cin Martinez has woven their stories into this new play which will be performed on Saturday, March 28th, at the Watkinson School at 7:30.
Lo Cotidiano means “The Everyday” in Spanish. The term is central to Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz’s Mujerista Theology. Dr. Isasi-Diaz believed that Latinx women have a unique spirituality and relationship to God that is tied to their daily struggle and informed by their lived experience.
