LO Austin | Madre Tierra Work Day

Let's take care of our Mother Earth!

Come join us for a day of working in nature at the beautiful Maxwell Trail on the Water Quality Protection Lands with Austin Water Wildlands and Defenders of Wildlife! We will bring together a group of 25 adults and 10 youth (ages 15-18) for a combination of volunteer work and a scenic hike through the beautiful Water Quality Protection Lands.

No experience required, just bring your positive energy and desire to work as a team! All ages welcome. We will meet on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Maxwell Trail (30°12'32.9"N 97°54'14.6"W).

Parking instructions: As you enter the main parking lot, look for an open metal gate on the left-hand side. Turn left through the open gate and continue slowly for a short distance down the unpaved road to the parking area. We’ll direct you where to park.

For this workday, we’ll be focusing on planting native plants in shaded restoration areas. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants to protect your legs and bring sun protection and water. Lights snacks will be provided for everyone.
