Join Liz Campion, MLIS, from Kent State University Libraries for a presentation exploring the May 4 Collection, established in 1970 to preserve the history and legacy of the Kent State Shootings and their aftermath. The collection contains more than 750 cubic feet of primary source materials, including documents, photographs, publications, and other historical records.During the program, attendees will learn about key highlights from the collection, receive an introduction to the digital collections, and gain an overview of the Kent State Shootings Oral History Project, which preserves firsthand accounts from those connected to the events of May 4, 1970.
Participants will also have the opportunity to view and engage with related facsimiles and historical ephemera, offering a closer look at the materials that help document and interpret this pivotal moment in history.
