Vanessa Saunders is a professor of practice at Loyola University New Orleans. Her feminist, experimental novel, The Flat Woman, won the Ronald Sukenick Innovative Fiction Prize with Fiction Collective 2 and will be published by University of Alabama Press. Her hybrid work, fiction, and poetry has appeared in Seneca Review, Los Angeles Review, Sycamore Review, Passages North, and [PANK] among others. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she received her MFA from Louisiana State University.
Anne Gisleson is the author of The Futilitarians: Our Year of Thinking, Drinking, Grieving and Reading (Little, Brown). Her publications include The Atlantic, The Smithsonian, The Los Angeles Times, Oxford American, and a few anthologies, like Best American Nonrequired Reading and Airplane Reading. Her essays have also appeared in several books of art and photography, most recently in Akasha Rabut’s Death Magick Abundance, Cheryl Gerber’s Cherchez la Femme, and Anne Deleporte’s Pates aux Souvenirs. Her nonfiction book Wild Iris is forthcoming from LSU Press’ Louisiana True series. She teaches at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, the UNO Creative Writing Workshop and is co-founder of the literary and visual arts non-profit Antenna.
Dr. Raye Hendrix is a writer and from Alabama. Her debut poetry collection, What Good Is Heaven, is out now from Texas Review Press (2024) as their selection to represent Alabama in the Southern Poetry Breakthrough Series. Raye is the author of two chapbooks and the winner of the Keene Prize for Literature (2019) and the Patricia Aakhus Award (Southern Indiana Review, 2018). Their work appears in American Poetry Review, Poetry Northwest, 32 Poems, and elsewhere. Raye is the editor of Dis/Connect: A Disability Literature Column (Anomalous Press). She teaches in the English department at the University of Tennessee.
