Cynhadledd Gweithiwyr Proffesiynol Iechyd Meddwl Cymeradwy (AMHP) Cymru

Ar gyfer pwy mae’r digwyddiad hwn

Mae’r gynhadledd hon ar gyfer Gweithwyr Proffesiynol Iechyd Meddwl Cymeradwy (AMHP) o bob rhan o Gymru.

Bydd yn gyfle i gyfrannu at ddatblygiad a dysgu AMHPs a bydd yn gyfle i chi rwydweithio. Mae'r gynhadledd yn dathlu rôl yr AMHP a'r rôl hanfodol y mae ymarferwyr yn ei chwarae wrth gyfrannu at lesiant y boblogaeth.

Cynnwys y gynhadledd

Bydd y gynhadledd yn canolbwyntio ar brofiadau a heriau rôl yr AMHP. Mae ein siaradwyr gwadd yn cynnwys:

• Robert Lewis - Gweithiwr Cymdeithasol Iechyd Meddwl Arweiniol, Adran Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol

Bydd Robert yn cyflwyno'r datblygiadau diweddaraf a chyfeiriad polisi iechyd meddwl yn y dyfodol. Bydd yn rhoi trosolwg o Ddiwygio'r Ddeddf Iechyd Meddwl, gan gynnwys y newidiadau arfaethedig, amserlenni disgwyliedig a datblygiad y Cod Ymarfer o safbwynt Lloegr. Bydd Robert hefyd yn trafod heriau'r gweithlu sy'n effeithio ar yr AHMPs a bydd yn edrych ar ddulliau o ymdrin â dyletswyddau Adran 13, ystyried ceisiadau am asesiadau Deddf Iechyd Meddwl a'r prif ffactorau sy'n gyrru'r datblygiad hwn.

• Alberto Salmoiraghi - Seiciatrydd Ymgynghorol, Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr

Bydd Alberto yn cyflwyno'r dystiolaeth gyfredol o sut mae dyluniad gwasanaeth gwael yn effeithio ar ofal iechyd meddwl. Bydd yn rhoi trosolwg o'r strategaeth iechyd meddwl a llesiant ac yn archwilio'r achos dros wasanaethau mwy integredig, gan ystyried sut y gall cydlynu gwell wella canlyniadau a phrofiadau i bobl sy'n defnyddio gwasanaethau iechyd meddwl.

• Michael Brown - Awdur y blog Mental Health Cop

Bydd Michael yn trafod pwerau brys a'r cynigion ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus i ymestyn pwerau'r heddlu o dan Adrannau 135 a 136 y Ddeddf Iechyd Meddwl. Bydd yn ystyried effaith dulliau tebyg mewn gwledydd lle mae'r pwerau hyn wedi'u dilyn.

• John Gittins - Uwch Grwner gogledd a chanolbarth Cymru.

Bydd John yn cyflwyno achosion o'i brofiadau mewn cwestau lle mae iechyd meddwl wedi bod yn ffactor arwyddocaol. Bydd yn trafod themâu allweddol sy'n deillio o'r achosion hyn, gan gynnwys Adroddiadau Atal Marwolaethau yn y Dyfodol (Rheoliad 28) a phrosesau coronaidd. Nod y sesiwn yw cefnogi dysgu seiliedig ar ymarfer trwy dynnu sylw at wersi a ddysgwyd o achosion go iawn a nodi cyfleoedd i wella gwasanaethau, lleihau risg, a helpu i atal marwolaethau yn y dyfodol.

All-Wales Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) conference

Who this event is for

This conference is for all AMHP’s across Wales.

It will be an opportunity to contribute to AMHP development and learning and will be a chance for you to network. The conference celebrates the AMHP role and the vital role practitioners play in contributing to the well-being of the population.

What we’ll cover

The conference will focus on experiences and challenges of the AMHP role. Our guest speakers are:

• Robert Lewis - Lead Mental Health Social Worker for the Department of Health and Social Care

Robert will present the latest developments and future direction of mental health policy. He’ll give an overview of Mental Health Act Reform, including the proposed changes, expected timescales, and development of the Code of Practice from an English perspective. Robert will also discuss workforce challenges affecting the AHMPs and will look at approaches to Section.13 duties, the consideration of requests for Mental Health Act assessments and the main factors driving this development.

• Alberto Salmoiraghi - Consultant Psychiatrist for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board

Alberto will present the current evidence of how poor service design affects mental health care. He’ll give an overview of the mental health and well-being strategy and explore the case for more integrated services, considering how better co-ordination can improve outcomes and experiences for people who use mental health services.

• Michael Brown Author of the Mental Health Cop blog

Michael will discuss emergency powers and the public consultation proposals to extend police powers under Sections 135 and 136 of the Mental Health Act. He’ll consider the impact of similar approaches in countries where these powers have been adopted.

• John Gittins - Senior Coroner for north and mid Wales.

John will present cases from his experiences in inquests where mental health has been a significant factor. He’ll discuss key themes arising from these cases, including the Prevention of Future Deaths Reports (Regulation 28) and coronial processes. The session aims to support practice-based learning by highlighting lessons from real cases and identifying opportunities to improve services, reduce risk, and help prevent future deaths.
