The Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race takes place on September 20, but tonight we ride the entire race route (about 7 miles total), untangle the secrets of tackling LKSR, and learn from the lore of those who came before. This meetup is FOR ANYONE interested in learning more about the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race 2025 - but primarily geared towards folks looking to volunteer or participate in the building and racing of kinetic machines.
We will gather at the official START line of LKSR at the intersection of Market and Palmer Streets in downtown Lowell at 6:00 p.m. to bike the route as a group. All ages are welcome to attend. Please bring your bike and helmet.
We will bike at a leisurely pace, discussing key aspects of the race and the route as we go. It should take about 90 minutes for us to finish where we started. Public restrooms are available at the Sampas Pavilion, approximately two-thirds of the way through the course.
All are welcome to stay after the ride for more conversation and snacks at Warp & Weft, located on Market Street in Lowell.
