LJ MounteneyLJ Mounteney brings soulful, bluesy vocals to The Coda on January 9th! Mama Danced is LJ’s current album and features 13 songs, including 8 originals. The disc has received favourable reviews and radio and internet airplay worldwide.
Joining her as her very special guest on bass, vocals and harp, is the producer of Mama Danced Canadian bluesman Jack Lavin! Also joining LJ are a stellar team of Vancouver and Nanaimo musicians in the blues, roots and rock genres - Linda Kidder (bass/vocals), Allan Dionne (drums/vocals) and Jon Roper (guitar).
Expect a night of feel good Canadian vocal and guitar driven original and cover blues, roots and rhythm and blues!

About LJ:
Vancouverite LJ Mounteney has carved out a unique niche for herself via her bluesy vocals and expressive performances. In addition to her leading own band, she fronts Zappostrophe’ (a Frank Zappa project) as well as Get Back Unplugged - The Beatles Reimagined (late period Beatles). In August, her Pioneering Women of Blues show sold out at the Vancouver International Film Festival Society where it was paired with the Canadian debut showing of Big Mama Thornton’s new documentary, I Can’t Be Anyone But Me.
About Jack Lavin:
Born in Chicago, bassman, singer and composer, Jack Lavin made his way to Canada to form one of Canada’s most successful blues bands, Powder Blues. Over the years, Jack has worked with some of the very best in blues both while touring extensively as well as hosting the Yale’s iconic blues jam in Vancouver.
