TOM HAMPTON
tomhampton.com
Tom Hampton released his first critically acclaimed album of original music almost 30 years ago, but found himself more suited to the life of a sideman and session player for many years, specializing in working with singer-songwriters and finding instrumental voices to support his partners, much like his hero and mentor, David Lindley. Tom played with a wide range of artists including Tracy Grammer, Robert Hazard, Craig Bickhardt, as well as southern rockers the Marshall Tucker Band and Poco (he was the last person to join the band before they folded after the passing of founder Rusty Young in 2021). He returned to recording artist status with a pair of records - "Out to Pasture", a celebration of Rusty Young and Paul Cotton's songs with several original compositions intertwined with Poco favorites, and his first album of original material since 1997's "Our Mutual Angels" - a strong, compact set titled "A Month Of Somedays".
