SPEAKERS:

Dr. Nazia Selzner is the Lead for the Centre for Living Organ Donation, Medical Director of the Live Donor Liver Transplantation Program at Ajmera Transplant Centre and Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto

Dr. Cynthia Tsien is the Education Director, Ajmera Transplant Centre and Assistant Professor of Medicine, Toronto General Hospital
Dr. Dalia El-Ashry

Kamika Sylvester is a Registered Nurse, health advocate and co-founder of the Black Birth Project. Her passion for health equity and reproductive justice stems from her lived experiences as a patient and healthcare clinician working in multiple provinces. Through workshops, programs and social media, Kamika equips individuals with knowledge, skills, and strategies they can use to navigate and advocate for themselves in a complex healthcare system.

Sasha Kanagarayar has been a Registered Social Worker for 10 years. She graduated from York University with a Master of Social Work in 2015 and graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2014. Sasha has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her experiences within healthcare have involved working in mental health, substance abuse and medical units with children, adolescents, adult and families as they navigate illness, financial stressors, family dynamics and other life changes. Sasha currently works full time as an Outpatient Transplant Social Worker with the Toronto General Hospital Alcohol Liver Disease Program and part time as a Social Worker at the Hospital for Sick Children Emergency Department. When Sasha is not working she enjoys trying new dessert places and spending time with her dog Penny.
Candice Coghlan is the Education & Outreach Coordinator at the UHN Centre for Living Organ Donation, a former hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patient and a recipient of a living donor kidney transplant from her mother.
