About this Event
Please join us on Thursday 18 July at this free, in person event, featuring a range of talks, activity tasters and information stalls, all about living well with Parkinson's, and the support and activities on offer across the South East of London.
This event is open to everyone, but we are specially inviting people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones from Black, Asian, Arab or mixed heritage backgrounds, and those newly diagnosed, as we want to ensure our local activities and opportunities are inclusive, accessible and representative of the diverse local community. Whether you live with Parkinson’s or know someone that does, join us on Thursday 18 July!
We have an exciting programme of speakers and exhibitors, to tell us about Parkinson's research and how to get involved in studies, physical activities to help improve wellbeing, and support on offer from Parkinson's UK and other local organisations.
- Learn about activities that can help people manage their symptoms and live well, including: Boxing for Parkinson's, Seated Dancing, Movement to Music, and Tai Chi
- Chat with Parkinson’s advisers who support people with Parkinson’s and their families in over 170 languages
- Meet local Parkinson’s specialists and healthcare professionals who provide support and care in your area
- Connect with other people living well with Parkinson’s
- Find out how taking part in Parkinson’s research could help to find more effective treatments for you and your community
And much more!
The programme of talks and activities will run from 11am to 3.10pm, with a free, hot buffet lunch included. People are welcome to arrive from 10.30am to chat with our stallholders, and can stay after until 4pm to chat to stallholders, speakers, healthcare professionals and Parkinson's UK staff.
Walk ins are welcome, and you are free to pop in at any time on the day that suits you.
Free lunch and refreshments throughout the day are included.
