About this Event
This program is a two-day event that will offer timely updates, expert insights, and hands-on learning opportunities focused on the future of the region’s water, land, and communities. Participants will also engage in collaborative discussions that bridge agricultural practices, urban development, conservation efforts, and water management policy.

Location Day 1: Hart Springs & Campgrounds (4240 SW 86th Avenue, Bell, Florida 32619)
Date and Time: Tuesday, April 21st from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Topics that day will include:
– Current state of water resources and land use in the Suwannee Valley
– Updates on Basin Management Action Plans (BMAPs) and regional policy initiatives
– Perspectives on agricultural transitions, property valuation, and springs conservation
– Group discussion on challenges related to water use, urban growth, and community planning
– Guided tour of farm and dairy operations, including demonstrations of nutrient management practices
Location Day 2: Suwannee River Water Management District (9225 Co Rd 49, Live Oak, FL 32060)
Date and Time: Wednesday, April 22nd from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Topics that day will include:
– Regional permitting processes and water use considerations
– Funding opportunities to support conservation and efficiency projects
– Monitoring updates and current conditions of local springs
– Urban planning strategies, including the role of treatment wetlands
– Conservation easements as tools for long-term water resource protection
– Facilitated discussion on actionable solutions for community and policy leaders
