About this Event

In an event hosted by Dr Danny O’Connor, the Colm Tóibín Lecturer in Creative Writing, come and hear from the winners and runners up of our Liverpool Literary Festival short story competition.

October marks three hundred years since the publication of Gulliver’s Travels. To celebrate, the theme of this year’s writing competition was ‘Travels’

We asked entrants to write a short story of no more than 1,500 words in any genre, which was then published in an online anthology.

This free event is sponsored by Scrivener and the judging panel included Festival Director Professor Greg Lynall, King Alfred Chair in English Literature.
