We are very excited to announce Liverpool IV 2026 - come along for a day full of high quality debating and some infamously thrilling socials!This will be an in-person British Parliamentary style Debating event with 4 rounds of 7 minute speeches, and a break to 3-4 concurrent finals, including a Gold Final and a Pro-Am Final (possibilities for additional Silver, Bronze, ESL or Novice finals will be considered based on team sign-ups).

Irish & international reg fee: £35.
Discounts of £5 per team will be given to any institution sending 3 or more teams.

Drop-out deadline: 24/04
Pre-reg & invoices will be released after the drop-out deadline. If teams fail to drop out by the drop out deadline, they will still be charged.
Once you have reg’d, your team has been accepted, unless we have announced the existence of a waitlist prior to you filling out the form. You do not need to wait for a confirmation email or an invoice to confirm your attendance.

For the purposes of this tournament, a novice/am is a debater who is in their first ACADEMIC year of university debating, has no more than two open breaks as a university-level speaker and has no more than three open breaks as a BP-specific schools-level speaker.

Friday:
18:00-22:00 - Mingle at our Student Guild pub & meet your crash hosts. (Liverpool Guild of Students, L3 5TR, pub is called The Courtyard)
Saturday:
08:30-09:00 - Registration (with tea, coffee, toast & snacks).
09:00-09:45 - Announcements.
09:45-11:45 - Round 1.
11:45-13:45 - Round 2.
13:45-14:30 - Lunch (not included - but there are shops nearby).
14:30-16:30 - Round 3.
16:30-18:30 - Round 4 (closed round).
18:30-19:15 - Dinner (pizza & drinks).
19:15-19:30 - Break Announcement.
19:30 - 21:30 - Finals (Open/Gold Final, Pro-Am Final & potential for a Silver/Bronze/ESL Finals).
21:30-22:00 - Closing Ceremony (including prizes!).
22:00-23:00 - Pre-drinks, return to crash, or join us at a shots.
23:00 onwards - Nightclub Social in Concert Square (TBC).
Sunday:
10:45-12:30 - Wetherspoons brunch by the train station (TBC).
12:30 onwards - surprise (sober) afternoon activities (TBC)!
