Two ambient artists at the forefront of their genre make their Hoover debuts.Luke Schneider is a Nashville based pedal steel guitarist who has worked with a variety of artists including Margo Price, Orville Peck, S.G. Goodman, William Tyler, and Futurebirds. His debut solo album of ambient New Age music created entirely on pedal steel, ‘Altar of Harmony,’ was released by Third Man Records in 2020. His new EP ‘For Dancing In Quiet Light’ is out now via Leaving Records.
Saapato is the music project of upstate New York–based sound artist Brendan Principato. His work explores the intersection of ecology and music, weaving manipulated field recordings with lush electronic soundscapes that invite listeners to reconsider their place within nature.
He has completed multiple residencies with the National Park Service and the Alaska State Park Service, including a 2023 residency near Juneau documenting whale and bird migrations, and a 2022 residency on Fire Island, New York, recording the fragile ecologies of swale and dune habitats. His practice extends into site-specific installation, most recently presented at Experimental Sound Studio’s Sonic Pavilion 2025 festival in Chicago.
